Oxfordshires premier ice hockey team, the Oxford City Stars, are delighted to welcome Nikki Duffin as the new Sports Therapist for the 23/24 season.
Nikki Is no stranger to Ice Hockey, having been an avid fan for around 15yrs, and having helped with Medic services to the National League's Basingstoke Bison. She brings a wealth of ice hockey specific knowledge that will help support our players throughout the season.
Shane Moore, Head of Operations had this to say: "As an organisation, we have been looking to bring on board a sports therapist to support our players, and with the unfortunate withdrawal of Bison from the National League for the 23/24 season, I saw it as an opportunity to explore if Nikki may be available. She has the added bonus of being a trained medic which should help our players keep on top of an injuries throughout the season. Being able to add Nikki to our organisation adds another layer of professionalism as we continue to grow the club both on and off the ice. We have lots to do in the off season, but securing the sports therapist was one of the highest priorities for me. I'm pleased to be able to bring Nikki over to Oxpen's Road.
Nikki added "With Bison unable to commit to the 23/24 season, I assumed that I wouldn't be able to continue my work in the hockey world this year. I'm grateful for the opportunity with the Oxford City Stars, and excited to get started and meet the team. I hope I can help assist with any medical or physio needs for the players, to help keep them in top form throughout the season."
