Oxford City Stars Announces Retirement of Forward James Hounsome

It is with mixed emotions that Oxford City Stars announces the retirement of 24-year-old forward, James Hounsome. James joined the Stars this season, transferring from Swindon Wildcats NIHL2, showcasing his dedication and talent on the ice. Unfortunately, he has not been able to feature in recent lineups due to personal circumstances, leading to his decision to retire from ice hockey.

James expressed that the decision was made to prioritise his work and family commitments. The club fully supports James in his choice and wishes him the very best in all his future endeavours. He departs with the heartfelt gratitude and best wishes of the entire Oxford City Stars community.

Shane Moore, Head of Hockey Operations, expressed his gratitude for James's contributions, stating, "On behalf of the entire organisation, I would like to extend our deepest appreciation to James for his efforts and commitment during his short time with the Oxford City Stars. While we are sad to see him leave the ice, we fully support his decision to focus on work and family. James has been a valued member of our team, and we wish him nothing but success and happiness in the next chapter of his life."

The club recognises and respects the personal nature of James's decision and emphasises that the door will always be open should he choose to return to the ice in the future.
