The Cat has got the cream

Netminder Matt ‘The Cat’ Croyle has re-signed for Oxford City Stars.

Croyle originally joined the Stars from Bracknell Hornets for 2020/21 season that was cancelled. And the 25-year-old is now looking forward to getting on the ice after the long lockdown enforced void.

Croyle came through the junior system in Slough before breaking into senior hockey with the Sheffield Senators.

He also played for Sheffield Spartans and had a successful stint at Widnes Wild, before spending icing for the Hornets.

Croyle said: “I’m really excited to hit the ice with the guys and getting some good wins, hopefully in front of the fans.”

Head Coach Dean Birrell said: “Matt has good experience, a good character and is a good goalie. He is a great addition to our squad and we are pleased he has re-committed to the Stars.”
