Taylor takes the reigns as full coach

Oxford City Stars is pleased to announce the appointment of Shannon Taylor as the full-time Head Coach, following a period as Caretaker Coach and assistant coach. Shannon, who has been with the rejoined the City Stars this year as assistant coach, has been able to capture the room and we hope he can build on this for the remainder of the season and beyond.

Shane Moore, Head of Hockey Operations, expressed his confidence in Shannon, stating, "We are happy to officially name Shannon Taylor as our Head Coach. He has brought a different style of hockey since his caretaker role, and we hope he can change our fortunes for the 2nd half of the season. His ability to connect with the players has been evident during his time as Caretaker Coach. We believe he is the right person to lead our team to better fortunes, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact he will continue to have on and off the ice."

Shannon Taylor, the newly appointed Head Coach, shared his enthusiasm for the role, saying, "Being asked to take over on an interim basis was one of the biggest honours of my hockey career to date so now to be given the opportunity permanently is a hugely proud moment for me personally.

I am grateful to the board for being given this chance and the faith they have shown in me and I will continue to do all in my power to bring success back to this great club!

This season has not gone as we would have liked but the squad are now adapting to my ideas and there has been positive signs over the past few games. It is a work in progress but we will build and improve week on week and finish the season finish as strong as possible all whilst building into next season.

However we cannot lose sight of the weekend ahead and the games vs Slough and welcoming Chelmsford to Oxpens road, the support I have had from the fans so far has been nothing short of incredible and all I can ask is that continues this weekend and beyond."
