stars swoop to sign d-man

Oxford City Stars have swooped to sign D-Man Harvey Robson.

Head Coach Dean Birrell moved to snap up the talented player who also had offers from other clubs.

Robson, 21, was available after a spell playing in Sweden followed by a break from the game.

As a junior he played at Slough Jets, before playing for Guildford Phoenix, Okanagan Hockey Academy, Swindon Wildcats and Visby/Roma J20 in Sweden. He has also played conference for South East at various age groups and for England U19s.

He was recommended to Birrell who invited him to train with the Stars, where he has impressed.

Birrell said: “Harvey is a good player, he reads the game well, is strong, fast and has a great attitude.

“He has had a good upbringing in ice hockey and we will be looking to him to now kick on and build his senior career with Oxford. We are delighted to have signed him, as he attracted interest from several clubs. He opted to sign for us, which speaks volumes for the club and what we are looking to build here.”

Robson said: “After being out of the game for three years after coming back home from Sweden I am excited to be getting back playing, especially in Oxford as I know the club has a great fan base.”

Robson’s own and loan jerseys are available to sponsor. Please get in touch if you would like to sponsor them via: Info.oxfordcitystars@gmail.com
