Stars Goal Scorer Re-Signs

Updated: Jul 31, 2020

Oxford City Stars have bolstered its forward line by re-signing goal scorer Matt Lawday. Lawday, 29, put pen to paper to commit to his fourth season at Oxpens. The forward who scored 53 goals in three seasons at Oxford is looking forward to another year at the club. Lawday said: “This was an easy decision for me, I’m really happy to be wearing the yellow and blue of Oxford again this season.

“Oxford has a great group of players in the room and the best fan base in the league. “Hopefully, it’s not too long until we’re back on the ice. I hope everyone is keeping safe and look forward to seeing everyone soon.” Head Coach Dean Birrell said: “Matt has put up consistent numbers at Oxford and I’m looking forward to working with him. “Matt is a well-regarded member of the squad and he had no hesitation in committing to the club. “I’ll be challenging him to make this is biggest season yet at Oxford.”

OWN AND LOAN!

You can help back the club by sponsoring Matt’s home and away jerseys via our popular Own and Loan programme. Sponsor the home or away jersey for £100 – or both for £150. And new this year – you can have your name (personal name or company name) on the player’s jersey. These are the jerseys Matt will play in – you would own and loan them to Matt and receive them at the end of the season. http://oxfordcitystars.com/club/own-and-loan/
