stars cooking up a storm

Oxford City Stars have swooped to sign D-Man Chris Cooke.

Cooke was a free agent having left Bracknell Hornets, where was captain.

The experienced 26-year-old has an excellent CV. He started his ice hockey career in 2008 at Guildford Firestars.

He represented England at U16s and U18s and played for Guildford Flames for two seasons in the EPHIL. Cooke has also played for Invicta Dynamos, Wightlink Raiders, Streatham and Basingstoke Bison.

Cooke said: “After speaking with Dean and hearing his plans for the season it was a no brainer to sign for the Stars. One of the biggest things I’ve noticed playing against the Stars for many years was the fan base and support which was unbelievable.

“Hopefully I can bring some experience on the back end and help some of the younger guys flourish.”

Head Coach Dean Birrell said: “Chris is a strong and respected D-Man and was captain at Bracknell. He is tough, a solid leader and has good years ahead of him.”

Own & Loan!

Cooke will play #9 and his Own and Loan jerseys are available to sponsor now on a first come, first served basis. They are £100 each, or £150 for the pair. Please DM us on social media, or email info.oxfordcitystars@gmail.com
