Oxford City Stars have signed D-Man Lex Smith.
The Stars moved to snap up Smith, 18, after he returned to the UK following a two-year stint in the US.
Oxford born Smith played for Washington Little Caps U16s and U18s between 2019 and 2021.
He started his career at Oxford in our Junior Club, before moving to Basingstoke Bison at U15 level. He played in Basingstoke for three seasons before moving abroad.
Smith said: “I started playing hockey at Oxford from the age of seven and have since played across the UK and US.
“I am proud and excited to be back at Oxford and can’t wait to get out there in front of our fans.”
Stars head coach Dean Birrell said: “Lex is a local boy who has spent the past couple of seasons playing in America. He is a big D-Man with bags of potential. We’re looking forward to working with him and helping him establish his UK career at his hometown club.”
Lex's matchday jerseys are sponsored by Clair and Jenson Smith via our Own and Loan programme. Thank you for your support!
