ravenscroft returns

D-Man Tom Ravenscroft has re-signed for Oxford City Stars.

The 21-year-old has put pen to paper for the 2022/23 season, for his third campaign with the club.

Ravenscroft, who is from Oxford, has developed strongly since making his Stars’ debut in 219 and won the club’s defenceman of the year last season.

He said: “Coming back to Oxford was a no brainer.

“I’m looking forward to getting back on the ice and building on the work I put in last season. Having enjoyed playing for Simon previously and after speaking with him I really like his vision for the club and I want to be part of it.”

Head Coach Simon Anderson said: “I’m excited to have signed Tom. From a personal point of view he had a decent season last year that culminated in him winning the defenceman of the year award.

“I am looking for him to continue in that form and I believe he has another level that he can get to.

“He has developed well in the last three years both in skill development, but also his hockey IQ. I could see that when I watched the last few games of last season. It is a big year ahead for Tom and we’re happy he is back at Oxford.”
