Oxford City Stars Secures the Services of Crucial off ice team

Oxford City Stars, Oxfordshire Premier Ice Hockey Club are pleased to welcome back the trio of Aaron Smith, Clair Smith and Darren Turner for the upcoming season. These crucial volunteers, along with many others, with their immense passion and unwavering dedication, play an integral role in the club's continued success.


  1. Darren Turner – Equipment Manager: Turner has been supporting the stars over multiple seasons now, and is always ready to support the team from the bench on game days for all their equipment needs. Always greeting you with a smile and ready to muck in, not only on home games but away games also.

  2. Clair Smith – Team Manager: The mother hen of the team! We are delighted to welcome back Clair who is always there to support off ice staff and players alike, and looks after the boys as if they were here own! A long term supporter of the Oxford City Stars, she is always on hand for whatever the team through at her!

  3. Aaron Smith – General Support: Completing the trio, we are lucky to have Aaron return once again who mucks in wherever required. Whether its assist with equipment, driving players to games or driving 100's of miles to pick up something the team needs for the weekend, Aaron is always happy to support any way he can!

These re-signings represent a significant capture for us, as it ensures the continuity and stability of the club's backroom operations. The renewed commitment of these key staff members is a testament to the positive working environment and the club's vision for long-term success as we continue to build ahead of the 23/24 season. Oxford City Stars management team are thrilled to have these individuals back on board. Their continued presence will undoubtedly reinforce the club's pursuit of excellence, both on and off the ice this season. Speaking about the re-signing of the backroom staff, Shane Moore, expressed his enthusiasm: "We are delighted to have secured the services of Turner, Aaron and Clair for another season. Their skills, dedication, and passion are crucial to the ongoing success of the club. We believe their continued presence will strengthen our efforts to achieve our goals this coming season and we are lucky as a club to have them and many other volunteers. We simply couldn't operate with them all.
