matchday cafe - news

Ahead of our first home match for 543 days this evening we would like to update supporters on the rink's café.

Due to the impact of the pandemic and lockdowns the café has not yet been re-opened by the rink's operating company Fusion, but we are advised it will fully re-open in due course.

However, following on-going talks between the club and Fusion we are pleased to confirm we received confirmation on Friday night that the Stars can operate a reduced match-day café until Fusion re-open it professionally.

It was important to us to ensure our supporters could still access refreshments on a match-day and a lot of work has gone into making this possible. We are grateful we have been given this opportunity by Fusion on a short term basis and it has been all hands to the pump this weekend to prepare the stock and logistics.

At today's match we will be selling hot drinks, soft drinks and a range of snacks. Please note unfortunately there will not be any hot food or alcohol at this stage. The club are not professional caters and we do not have the licences required to prepare and sell hot food or alcohol required at this short notice.

All profits from today's Stars' matchday café will go to into the club and help towards running the club! The café will be operated by some of our wonderful volunteers. Please do bear with us during this period as we pull together!

Today will be our first home game since the pandemic took hold. We encourage supporters to use cashless payments as much as possible to help reduce touch points. We have card readers for on the door, the merchandise table and the café. Supporters are encouraged to wear face coverings, but it is not mandatory.

We look forward to seeing you again at last this evening.
