Oxford City Stars, the premier professional ice hockey club in Oxfordshire, is thrilled to announce the signing of talented defenceman Darcy Flanagan. The 24-year-old, standing at an impressive 6'3", joins us following successful stints in America, Sweden and Australia. Flanagan's arrival marks an exciting addition to our roster, further strengthening the team's defensive capabilities. The key area in which Head Coach Simon Anderson set out to strengthen this offseason.
With a diverse background, Flanagan brings a wealth of experience from a number of countries to Oxford's only professional ice hockey team. Having played in highly competitive leagues, he has honed his skills, emerging as a formidable force on the ice. Flanagan's towering presence and exceptional defensive prowess make him a valuable asset to our team's strategy.

It was important that we upgraded our D core and became more mobile, bigger and with more sandpaper for next season and Darcy fits the bill for us.A big solid guy who moves the puck incredibly well and plays a great two way game. He's happy to jump in the rush and add offence to his game, along with a no nonsense approach in his own end.
All of Darcy's references checked out favourably and talking to his Coach from Sweden, we have made a superb signing. I am excited for Darcy to arrive and join the Stars family."
