Net minder Ross Miller has re-signed for Oxford City Stars for the new campaign.
Miller, 24, scooped three gongs at the recent end of season awards after a show stopping year between the pipes at Oxpens.
And new head coach Dean Birrell moved quickly to secure the Welshman’s services.
Miller said: “I’m super happy to re-sign for Oxford for the new season.
“I couldn’t have enjoyed my time in Oxford any more than last season and I’m delighted to be retained.
“This season is going to be a tough challenge, as there are some strong clubs in the league, but I know myself and the boys will be ready for it.”
Birrell said: “While I haven’t seen Ross play, he comes highly recommended by everyone at the club.
“He is a great character and in addition to talent has the right attitude and work ethic which is exactly what I expect.
“Picking three awards for his performances is quite something and we’re delighted to have secured him for another season.
“I know other clubs were interested in Ross after his performances last season, so it speaks volumes for the club that he didn’t hesitate to re-sign.”
Miller picked up Coach’s Player of the Year, Fans’ Player of the Year, and the Media’s Player of the Year last season.
In other news the club can confirm D-Men Alex Staples and Jake Florey have left the club, after agreeing terms elsewhere.
We thank them both for their services and commitment during their time at the club.
Both played an integral role in the club’s double winning season in 2017/18 and they have been consistent performers. We wish them both well for the future.
